A green and relaxing environment
Between city and nature

the Courrouze eco-neighborhood in Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande

Living in the city, living in a park: that is the goal of the Courrouze eco-neighborhood.

Launched in the 2000s, La Courrouze is an iconic sustainable city project: neo-urban and modern architecture, eco-friendly buildings, and nature showcased to its fullest potential. It covers a total of 115 hectares, including 40 hectares of green space, representing one-third of the total area.

Built on a former industrial site, the Courrouze eco-neighborhood aims to limit urban sprawl and promote development that is more respectful of the environment and the population, while enhancing the economic attractiveness of the city of Rennes.

Located between the towns of Rennes and Saint-Jacques de la-Lande, this neighborhood offers an exceptional living environment and an ideal vacation spot to relax and enjoy the fresh air, while remaining close to downtown Rennes. The neighborhood promotes sustainable modes of transportation, such as cycling and walking, with numerous bike paths and pedestrian walkways.

In addition, you can enjoy direct access to the Rennes metro line B via the Saint-Jacques Gaité station, which will take you to the city center in about 10 minutes.

hotel with the "Green Key" label

Like the neighborhood in which it is located, the Hôtel Isidore is implementing measures to promote sustainable tourism. Since November 2022, the hotel has been one of the first 1,000 French establishments to be awarded the "Clef Verte" label (the leading sustainable tourism label for tourist accommodation and restaurants).

This label certifies that tourist establishments are operating sustainably based on more than a hundred criteria. The Hotel Isidore is the hotel of tomorrow: a responsible and committed hotel.
The label's criteria, established at the international level, require respect for the region, its natural environment, and its local populations, while contributing to its economic attractiveness.

This involves raising employee awareness, controlling water and energy consumption, responsible waste management, participating in a short supply chain, and promoting local stakeholders and the region's natural assets.

Taking action for sustainable development

A location on the outskirts of Rennes

This improvement in environmental performance requires the implementation of measures that give concrete expression to the institution's environmental approach.
To pursue and achieve these objectives, we are taking the following measures, for example:

  • Use of energy-saving light bulbs
  • Consumption of electricity generated entirely from renewable energy sources
  • Provision of trash cans to facilitate waste sorting
  • Use of eco-labeled cleaning products
  • Restrictions on the use of disinfectants
  • Using PEFC tissues for sustainable forest management
  • Use of large containers for welcome products (soaps, shower gel, shampoo, etc.)
  • Using bulk products for breakfast
  • Prioritize short supply chains and purchasing local products for breakfast and the restaurant.
  • Zero-kilometer micro-filtered water for breakfast and seminars
  • Raising awareness among our customers about eco-friendly actions they can take to support our approach
  • Vigilance and compliance by all with environmental guidelines and regulations
  • Compliance with applicable standards and regulations
  • Promoting environmentally friendly modes of transportation to our customers and teams
  • At the same time, we strongly encourage our customers to share any comments or suggestions that could contribute to the continuous improvement of our environmental approach.
